Last year was my first year racing cyclocross, and i am sooo hooked. Yeti’s cross bike is wonderful, it has all the necessary makings of an elite level bike without the hefty price tag that often comes with suck a race machine. Mine has an easton carbon fork that rides super stiff but is not abusive when I come into one of those rough sections. I run a 1 x 10 gearing so i dont have to worry as much about shifting when conditions are muddy like is a common occurance in Colorado.
I have been using my ARC-X during the summer as a road bike also, just swapped out the knobbys for some slicks and it was good to go. I kept the 1 x 10 but swapped out the single 44 tooth chain ring up front with a 48 so I don’t spin out while on the road.
